FAQ'S

Got any questions about Strong Mutha? Have a look below to see if we can help

Can I bring my baby, or child?

Yes, absolutely! Our classes were set up so you can bring your baby or child to class to solve the issue of childcare. Plus, we think it's really positive for littles to watch their mama exercising, and learning from the best.

Do I need to be fit before joining a class?

Not at all! Our classes are suitable for all fitness levels, whether you're new to exercise, returning after pregnancy, or already active. Exercises can be adapted to suit your experience and ability.

I'm nervous, what if my baby cries or I struggle to keep up?

You're not alone! Most mums feel unsure about getting started again. Our classes are supportive, welcoming, and judgement-free, and you are encouraged to start slowly at your own pace. You're welcome to feed, cuddle, or just sit and watch, and I promise no other mum will care if your baby cries, many offer to help one another by holding and rocking whilst they take turns to get the workout done.

When can I start exercising?

This varies for every mum. In general, many women can begin gentle exercise after their 6-week postnatal check (or 8–12 weeks following a C-section). We recommend contacting us before your first class if you're unsure, or would like to discuss something specific.

My child is now older, can I still come to classes?

Yes, we believe that once postnatal, always postnatal! If you've had a child and aren't sure how to restart exercising, you're welcome to come along at any point. We also offer 1:1 sessions if you would prefer a more bespoke option.

What if I have pelvic floor issues, or diastasis recti, or other postpartum issues?

Then you've come to the right place! Our team will coach you to breathe correctly, find modifications that work for you and safely guide you through exercise. Please talk to Lou or the instructor leading the class though, we can't help you if you don't tell us, and honestly, we've heard (most of it) before. If you need further guidance, we'll help you find more specific medical help- don't suffer in silence!!

What Our Clients Say

Jenny, Personal Training client

Lou is absolutely excellent! I recommend her to everyone I speak to, I love training with her. I've been to her classes and through a personal training journey with Lou. And honestly feel like I'm catching up with a friend while working out. She is a bubble of joy and energy, motivating and pushing me further than I knew I could go, while safely rebuilding what was lost to pregnancy and early postpartum. Her classes are fantastic, with a really warm community feel of like minded people, able to bring your children, meeting you at whatever level you are at, offering challenge in an accepting and understanding environment that kids are gunna be kids, they can play/chill/ snack/ make noise/ whatever goes.
